Mirrors to reflect light

Hi there, I have a kitchen extension that is north west facing. It has floor to ceiling windows and goes out into the garden which gets good sunshine. However on a really bright day the kitchen seems even darker because of the difference in light. I’m wondering if there are any mirrored solutions for the garden which could reflect light back into the kitchen. I put a mirror in the garden today and it helped. This photo is taken in the evening. I think mirrored walls are very odd, and were popular for appearing to increase the square footage of a room, or bring in the illusion of more light because of all the reflecting. I think you should buy a beautifully-framed mirror and put it over the sink. If you tile halfway up the wall, paint or wallpaper the rest.

Thank you all for replying and for your advice! I will certainly consider changing the lamps for taller ones. They are very low all right. General feeling seems to be that mirror would be better same colour as the fireplace so I will think about that (it was originally that colour but I thought it looked very dark LOL). I might move it to my bedroom, I have a space where it might work. I will try centring the rug also. Lots to consider, I appreciate the comments everyone!
