Fitting bathroom shower

I'm looking to buy a property but it has no shower, which I'd like to have fitted or remodel the entire room, but it has an awkward position of the window over the bath. The photo is taken from the door so not much room this side.

Would you please advise a) suggestions/costs for installing a shower (without a horrible shower curtain or drench style shower) in the current layout and b) suggestions/costs for a new layout.

I did wonder about putting an L shaped glass shower screen at the end nearest the sink, but I couldn’t find any! I’m not sure what is beyond the sink, but if there is a wall you could swop over the sink and bath so that you can have a glass shower screen (which attaches to the wall). I’ve no idea of costs for that but I did completely refurb my bathroom into a shower room and the cost, including all fittings, plasterer, plumber and tiler, was just under £6000.

For the time being (and this IS only a temporary fix) try using a water based penetrating sealer on the grout. I stress water based, because solvent based sealers today are made to be "breatheable", meaning they allow moisture to transmit back and forth, while the water based sealers will repel water. You still need to address this in a more permanent manner (the glass door is a good idea, but it wouldn't hurt to remove the bathroom floor tile, waterproof the floor, and install a new tile floor), but this will help until you can afford to do what you need to do.

Trying to pick accessories for refurb Ed bathroom. Are those glued on options good? Have got wall to floor tiles done so bit nervy of drilling into them but want assurance that they are effective. Even towel rails? Would I be right to assume not for inside the shower tho and get the bathroom rack properly fitted? Many thanks.

Hi.. we would appreciate some help with layout for bathroom reno. The big question is whether to re-install a new shower or not? Please see stripped out room attached (current state). In the original room there was a shower on left, bookcases in cubby on right, sink against the wall on right and toilet behind the door. We are happy and willing to reconfigure all as needs be. We have two showers upstairs and tbh this downstairs shower has been rarely if ever used. Grateful for your thoughts. Thanks!

My partner and I picked tiles we thought would work but that we both hate (mostly the beige coloured ones inside the shower/steam room). There weren't enough of the blue tiles in the shop on the back wall to do whole shower. It's our fault and now we're wondering what we can do to basically change the beige mosaic tiles?Someone suggested tile paint, but I hear it looks terrible over the grout areas.Also niche shelves I requested for inside the shower room were not put in, which I really wanted. I'm upset they're not in and am nearly considering doing that wall again to get them in. Someone suggested glass shelves, though I'm not sure they're safe in a steam room?I almost want to do the whole thing again. 😩 It's hideous.
