Keep carpet colours consistent or not?
Comments (6)When I was young we got new carpet throughout the house. The salesman suggested a different color for each room. My mother went with his choices. From the end of the hall it looked like a kaleidoscope. It was ghastly. I vote for one color throughout-a neutral color!...See MoreDecorating a teen girls bedroom!!
Comments (1)Congratulations on the new digs! :-) Pick your bedding first. From the bedding, pick a light neutral for the walls to play off the dark wood. You can have paint mixed to exactly match! Then, use another color in the bedding, if present, as your accent color. Usually, the best mix is 60% the main color, 30% the secondary color, and 10% a pop of a 3rd color. In the bath, look for a shower curtain in your wall color and towels in it and your secondary colors. Good luck!...See MoreSoundproof 1st floor joists - stud wall issue
Comments (1)Cannot see any pictures, but I use acoustic tape for top of joists, Remove dust, dirt etc from joists and just tape on Easy I use 18mm subfloor, exterior grade ply, with spacing between boards of 2mm, to allow for shrinkage and expansion, mastic joints Screw down with floor Tite screws, job done Also recommend 100mm stonewool slabs between joists for ceilings, and stud walls You could also fit a suitable flooring, cork floor or similar, deep pile carpet is also excellent Note , sizing and spacing of joists critical...See Morereconfigure or extension
Comments (0)We live in a 4 bed semi. We are toying with moving to a bigger better layout house in the same estate or reconfigure/extend our current house. We are content with downstairs but upstairs we’re not happy with. Myself and husband are in the master and have a small en-suite, our 2 boys share bedroom 2, the main family bathroom is too small and I use bedroom 3 as a dressing room. Bedroom 4 on the 2nd floor is a guest room and office and it has a good size en-suite. I’ve attached current layout. We don’t have much room to do a side extension so we’d have to do a rear extension. Our wish list: master suite with a large en-suite including bath and a walk in wardrobe. Bedroom each for the boys with shared en-suite. 4th bedroom and en-suite for guests and office Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance 😃...See MoreShirley Parnell
