Good question ... giving it a bump for you as it’s not one I know the answer to. I would imagine it’s easier to change at a later date if it was just in a top coat that could be sanded off to redecorate ?!?
Mmmm.... I know Valspar glitter is designed to work with their own paint. Not sure if it would work with other brands. Worth trying I suppose. I have used glitter in a varnish tho and can say that it needs stirring regularly to keep the glitter evenly distributed.
First solid paint, then a clear coat (acrylic paint) with glitter. Keep stirring thouroughly when applying, as the glitter tends to sink. And use ultra fine glitter.
