Bora or Miele - Induction hobs with built in ventilation

Hi there,

I am looking to buy an induction hob with built in extractor fan.

Can anyone share their experience or view on the following two models? All thoughts are welcome!

Bora Pure

Miele KMDA7774FL-1

Bora:

I really like the design and was very impressed by the demo. The only thing I don't like is it does not have flex cooking zone. It seems that I can turn on two cooking zones at the same time and "bridge it" by myself.

Also, my concern on Bora pure is that the cooker size is a bit smaller compare to Miele.

Miele:

I like the brand, it has flex zone so if I put one large pan, it should automatically recognise the size and turn the cooking zones on. ( not sure if there's more setting to be done?)

I didn't like the filter, the filter can not hold any water and all liquid go down to a shallow tray which can then be removed.

The model seems a bit old, I've seen reviews for "KMDA7774F" from 2018.

I have not seen demonstration, is the suction good? and how about the noise level?

Bora have just introduced the new X Pure cooktop extractor, this would give you the full surface induction feature you're looking for. Hi amfork, I went ahead & put the hob on my island & am delighted I did. I find it really is so much nicer looking out at the kids/my husband & being able to chat to them while I prepare meals as opposed to facing the wall with my back turned on everyone. I put a 4 ring induction hob on the island & put a 5 ring gas hob on counter facing wall. I did this as I have a large extended family & we frequently have get togethers. It’s great for catering for big events. However, I use the 4 ring induction hob on a daily basis. Hope this helps! Best of luck with your project, Claire

A15) @Dara Cooke: If you can't afford a quartz or granite worktop from day one then I would recommend using a laminate worktop as a temporary solution. If you don't put tiles up as a backsplash then replacing the worktops can be relatively easy in a couple of years.

Hi Ed I was struck by the similarity with our new kitchen layout. We recently renovated and I absolutely did not want either an overhead extractor (because I wanted to raise the ceiling), but also did not want to cut expensive quartz for a pop-up extractor which all seem to give trouble eventually and basically don't work! The solution was a German-made Bora induction hob with the downdraft in the middle of the hob. I have to say that it was the best investment we made! Ours could not be ducted outside (which is always the best option) without losing too much efficiency so we went for a filtration system. It works even better than I thought removing all smells and grease! It was really well worth the money. ...and no ugly hood blocking the view out! Watch the videos on the website - it actually does work exactly like that! They also do different options where you have gas on one side and induction hob on the other with the extractor in a panel between the two. Definitely an investment! You really do need extraction though as Fiona said. Strong cooking smells will will be absorbed into your furniture and soft furnishings in an open plan area. The best of luck with your project. I hope you love the end result as much as we love ours.

@Daisy England I have a good price from Miele. so price wise they are similar.

Do you happen to have Induction cook from Miele too? Or any other products? I have never used one so have no idea where to begin.....

@Townhouse DesignThank you. X Pure will only be available by end of May, but I need to have them installed by April. Do you know if we can use Pure and just turn on two hubs and use it for a big roasting pan?

I have a Bosch induction hob. My previous one was an AEG one which I preferred. I have a Miele washing machine and it is the best washer I have ever had by a long way.

Hi Sasha, the Pure is 4x set rings, so you could put a tray over the two zones, as would be similar on a gas hob.
Where as the X Pure has 4x surface induction pads, which would heat the tray evenly.

Bora, Bora, Bora. Bora invented this type of extraction and are miles ahead of anyone else. If you elect to have extraction rather than recirculating, Bora will even design your ducting route and specify the fan type required. Amazing service!

the Bora xpure has multi flex coming both sides and hob is 830 side. current pura is 750.

Hello, does anybody have experience with Bora Pure extractor in cold/subzero temperatures. Does the warm air escaping the extractor cause any freezing or eventually staining to the outer wall of the house? Any fog/steam at the windows close to the exhaust?
