Dining room/sitting/play room ideas please

Our dining room needs to be multifunctional. At the moment we use it for eating but the children really want to use it as a break out play/chill out space.
It will be particularly helpful for when we have guests round, to offer as an additional sitting area.
I'm not wedded to keeping any of the furniture but if we can reuse then great. I thought about a sofa type corner seat for the dining table. We definitely need storage (doesn't need to be like the bookcase because that doesn't actually provide much storage space)
Any suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance
