Paint colour for bedroom?
Hi, which colour works best? The bed is 'mink'. The new wall to wall wardrobes are grey/grey glass. The curtains, (fabric below and alongside paint samples) are beige.

Ellie I'm going for a neutral scheme and looking for a colour that bridges beige and grey. It's gotta contrast with the curtains and the bed, but only very slightly, to keep the look neutral. A pinky grey was suggested, so I'm looking in the taupe, greige sort of area.

Comments (8)With the wood trim, and a white crown . .. I think the duvet color scheme wants white painted skirting and window / window sill. Then, try a softer violet on the accent wall .. .since both the red or the blue could coordinate with that but otherwise we have opposites - As a backdrop, violet can be nice with gray and white. Great if you have a white wood headboard or padded slipcover above the bed, white matted art. . .. you do have good natural light, but with a dark wall you will want bedside lighting to be light and bright for nighttime. Here, the wood provided a gold element that was sort of helpful with the blue but will clash with where you are going.. Paint it out, and voila, you are on your way. . . there is a thread where a woman focused on white with coral - I'll find it and bring you the link so you can follow her decision making - she chose a strong accent wall in a small room and then concentrated on white and it is lovely....See MoreBedroom colour suggestions

I'll look at that paint suggestion, walks are white at moment but that paint you mentioned seems like it could be brighter. If I were to change or recover bed - any suggestions? Comments (6)Hi Orla. I've looked at your ideabook and assume you're happy to stick with the monotone look? I'd look at papering the ŵall behind the bed in Cole and son library panel wallpaper in midnight (pic will follow but it would also look good in a light shade!). The rest of the walls I'd do in a pale but warm grey. Which way does the room face in terms of lights? Go for black bedside cabinets but maybe something with curved lines or round handles against the bed. Either glass bedside lamps with white shades or in a warm metal or pendants hung low over the bedsides, Stick to white bed linen but add a charcoal throw with lots of texture. Choose cushions with different texture and patterns from White through to charcoal. Depending on what flooring you have you could also add a grey textured rug under the bed. I'd go for plain pale-mid grey curtains. If you have the space/budget a patterned black/grey and white chair would look great. I think the key thing is texture for interest so maybe also a large antiqued mirror, a chandelier with a silk drum shade, white flowers etc....See Moregrey paint in north facing bedroom

4 years agoSonia, packed sand is my new fave too. Bf is just about to paint a bigger patch on the wall. Here it is photographed with and without flash. Looks like a different colour in each.

4 years agoIt keeps changing colour in different lights. I like it. Phew. Curtains up later. I know I put the rail up wonky. I was trying to correct wonky window frame but it didn't work. Will try to correct via using different height loops on the curtain header tapes on one side. If that doesnt work I'll have to re hang the rail.

4 years agoLooking great Sam! Love keeping up with all your projects so looking forward to seeing this one when finished as well😊 Are you still thinking of changing the bedside lights? Was thinking a scandi style might suit really well with the wardrobes. Perhaps a teardrop shape or I like these from Umage (formerly Vita lighting), come in different finishes as well. Saw them for sale in Homesense a few months back and I regretted not getting a couple myself 😭.....hey ho. I sure whatever you do it will look awesome!

Here's where I'm up to with the bedroom. Wardrobes in, radiator replaced, curtains up and hemmed.
I'm looking for a small dark wood bedside table to replace the white IKEA one. And the room needs rugs, new bedding and art. We're thinking about a big framed textured panel, floor to ceiling behind the bed. Any thoughts on colours of any of this?

How about a macrame wall hanging? Don't know that you could make it yourself for these prices (if you had the time/inclination?)

3 years agoHi Sam, the bedroom looks fantastic. So peaceful and soft. I know you said , you want something textured on the wall, but how about some pastel prints in nice white or black frames. The framed art will resonate with the glass wardrobe and echo it.
