Overwhelmed with bedroom renovation planning.

Hello all!

First post! Feeling overwhelmed with planning to renovate my bedroom. I know exactly what I want to do but do not know what order to do things in and how to organise it all so that everything is completed at same time. Can anyone give some advice?

I am looking to pull out floor to ceiling mirrored slidedrobes, new fitted wardrobes to fit either side of chimney breast, new flooring, new plug sockets, skirting boards, painting etc.

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Cherry, we went with the laminate throughout the house and it turned out absolutely stunning. To be honest it's such good quality I don't think of it as laminate and everyone who visits thinks it's solid wood. It won't look like laminate if it's a good quality brand and you use a thick underlay. Using it throughout the house makes the rooms flow and makes the spaces feel bigger. It's also really easy to maintain unlike shiny glossy tiles! Good luck!

Hi 👋🏻 help please :) I am About to embark on our first home renovation and it’s already making my head hurt! We have a 3 bed semi d built in the 50s and are hoping to extend by 3.5 -4 metres out the back, convert the garage and build over it to create a bigger 3rd bedroom and a small 4th. I’m finding it so difficult to finalise the design downstairs - we want an open plan kitchen dining, a decent utility, guest WC and place for the kids and us to Hang out. We are keeping the sitting room at the front as a separate sitting room and using the garage conversion as a study/office. I would very much appreciate any thoughts, suggestions on the attached design.

Thank you for this and for attaching the photo to demonstrate! Lovely idea and would be ideal in the room. I’m not sure what you mean by extending the curtains? I was wondering about adding a recessed curtain rail and having it in an L shape to fit the other window too. Or maybe curtains on the large window and a Roman blind on the smaller one?
