please help me make a decision
I have been dithering a while on wardrobes for my bedroom.
I have sloped ceilings so was going to go with Timeless for the walls and ceiling.
I have this colour in other rooms in the house and it looks nice.
The room is North facing and although it doesn’t get direct sunlight, it has a very big window so is quite light. It’s also quite spacious.
Initially I was thinking of going timeless for the wardrobes so it all looked sophisticated, but I am wondering if it could end up looking bland.
I have oak beams in ceiling and a dark wood bed (not one in photo) pale bedding.
Curtains are pale mink with bit of sheen.
Grey seems to clash with curtains.
Someone suggested dark green wardrobes to compliment beams and bed.
I like it but I am not sure if I am brave enough.
What do you think? And also suggestions for handles. Leather maybe?

Comments (4)Get new doors and drawers then pick a tone that is in the tile for the cabinet color, preferably the darker tone to give them contrast, then a lighter tone for the countertops. From there you can add a cool backsplash that ties in all of the tones along with introducing a complimentary color to give it some interest. It IS red on the inside as well, he insisted on that when we purchased it. no one here has it red on the inside and I wanted it to be white on the inside. do you see my dilemma?;) I agree with everything you are saying, I suppose this is the reason why so far I was not 100% sure about the black for the door either, although I like black...Agree, there is too much wall and I find the house to be looking a bit 'bland' and would like to change that. I LOVE shutters, but read somewhere that you never put shutters on wide windows, so got unsure about that, too...but perhaps just the one as I stated earlier. Would the color on that shutter be the same as the door (if I ever settle on a door color)? Unfortunately window boxes are not an option as we have quite a few cats and they may be used as litter boxes;) please don't tell me to get rid of the cats;)... Regarding the stoop (entrance) : we need to add another step (made of cement) on top of the existing step: it was removed when the new door was fitted. We were thinking of putting slate tiles or something dark to match the roof, if that makes any sense.... It is porous cement so unsuitable for painting, I think. Comments (3)Hi elconno, Not sure if you are in USA but I would suggest two colors by Sherwin-Williams called Upward and Wallstreet. The pic doesn't do the colors justice but the dark one I would put only on the wall your fridge is on - that includes the little strip above the cabinets. This will make the fridge disappear a little and it will be a great wall for a piece of art with a lot of color - it will really pop! Comments (4)Here is a "stone look" Armstrong product linoleum that will not compete with all the color of backsplash. It is slightly darker than the cabinets which will ground the room nicely. Agree that you probably don't need more tile lines....See More

4 years agoTaupe is my favourite colour at the moment, and it does create a warm and elegant room. Colourhappy’s colours would be ideal, as will Dulux Egyptian Cotton, a warm beige with a tiny hint of pink. Here’s some pics to give you an ideas:

4 years agoWe have a (very) dark green wall in our master bedroom and absolutely love it. However I would say that if you're going for a dark colour (green, navy, black) then make sure it's done in a non-matte finish, as we've found it marks extremely easily (yes even just with dusting/touching!) Not entirely sure what look you're going for, but I personally think dark green or navy with leather pull or brass handles would look lovely. LOVE the design of the wardrobes anyway!
