Need help with sofa choice for living room
Comments (37)Hi, thanks for your comment. I totally agree - I actually have a large art print on order (vertical/ portrait orientation) and that will be replacing the mirror when it arrives. From previous comments I received everyone seems have different opinions on sofa choices but I think I'm pretty happy with the L shape one I've gone with - it fits the space a lot better (I think!) than the 3 & 2 seaters I previously had. I contemplated going with a different lighter sofa colour but practicality won in the end!...See Moreneed help with my living room
Comments (37)Hello CG, you can buy some of these and try them on site. From the pictures you posted I get the feeling you have 2 colors with similar saturation both fighting for attention. It's a little too much. I would keep the green but go softer on the red (i.e rust). You can also let yourself be inspired by the grey/silver/bordeaux floral and stripe pillows to create a brand new color scheme using these colors instead. For example, a very soft gray on the walls, gray carpet, grey/bordeaux combo in the curtains and for the sofa accents, pillows similar to these 2. It's decision time. Go for what speaks to you, but do it with elegance :-)...See MoreAnyone? Help please?!
Comments (9)Hi S, mirrors are effective when they are reflecting something visually interesting, like the view from an opposite window to the outdoors, or when used to create the illusion of additional space. The mirror in this picture does neither of those things. With the TV removed from the corner, there is more room for the window treatments to fill the corner properly (right now they look a bit squished), and it would be fine to leave it bare, or put a low accessory item in the corner, like a sculpture or a potted tree (not too tall!). As for the rug and table, there are 3 ways you can go: since the striped wallpaper and the floors are so neutral already, you can afford to add some color into the room with the rug. With a colorful or patterned rug, a clear glass table top would be good, because it allows you to see the rug. In that instance, the rug becomes the focal point of your furniture group. If you want to keep the rug very neutral too, then a solid table top is good (in an interesting material- maybe wood or stone). In that case, the table becomes the focal point of your furniture group. Lastly, if you want a neutral rug and a transparent table top, I would be sure to add some color or pattern to your seating- either the sofas themselves or throw pillows on the sofas, to inject some energy and keep the whole room from feeling too bland....See MoreNew sofa style
Comments (81)Hi Lisa, nice sofa. I had a red sofa for 10 years and loved it ( though mine was fabric) I've changed the kitchen/ living room and it stuck out like a sore thumb. I gave in and put in a grey leather sectional one and I must say it's much easier to decorate around. Are you in Ireland? Have you heard of the 1933 company, they have very nice suites. Red makes a big statement! Just my 2 cents worth, good luck!...See MoreMarina Drobot at Cinnamon Space
