Which rug and furniture to go with small open living room sofa?

I have purchased this sofa: https://www.made.com/scott-4-seater-left-hand-facing-chaise-end-sofa-petrol-cotton-velvet-3 which arrives next week.

My living room is small and open plan, with a big window, lots of plants. Attached a picture, although the chair and existing rugs will be moved when we put the sofa in, and TV will hang on the wall for more space.

or something else entirely?

also, wondering if the coffee table too big / will not go with the other decor?

What a gorgeous sofa, good choice. I think you could go either way. That is calm neutral shades like your first rug, or a bit spicier with the gold one. Blue and gold are always a good look. As to the coffee table, don’t panic yet. I think it would fit in better with calmer neutrals rather than the gold. The gold rug would suit a table like that morrocan brass one you have in the corner, it’s lovely.

Now to throw a spanner in the works, how about a Persian style rug? It would really suit your room. It’s just a suggestion, and it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I love that vintage eclectic look. The red ones look amazing with blue.

Paint the wood floor with a flooring paint. If you want to be creative, you can create your own special design. I've had painted wood floors in a previous home and everyone loved them. If you get tired of it, paint them a different color! Saves doing rip out and better for the environment! My floors held up well. I was surprised. I even did a faux marble floor for fun.

From the looks of things, that really is the only place for the sectional. So...can you pull it out just a foot maybe away from the window? Move your tv over the stove if safe to do and try a big plant in that corner where the tv is now. Your painting behind some is way too big for that wall. Move to opposite wall. I would remove the black loves eat and replace with two reading chairs and maybe that end table you have by the sofa. For window treatments I just do not see drapes/curtains working in this room with that sectional.

Hi I am decorating my living room, measuring 4.4 x 3.4, walls are painted white so its a blank canvas. At this point I have two couches, one navy velvet and a brown leather couch, I will add photos of these. I plan to have these facing each other, directly opposite each other. I also have an oil painting for the walls, I'll include a picture of that also, I am looking for some help with colour choices and texture ideas for cushions,throws and a rug. I am also struggling with ideas for other furniture I could add to the room. We moved into our home a year ago and we are slowly doing it up, we live mainly in the extension we built on at the back of the house which is open plan living/kitchen, but I want to make this room, which is part of the original of this semi D house, cosy and inviting.
