Our ideas have shifted from grey (too architect in our style of house), to sage green, before finally deciding that a warm white colour was what we’d love. Was thinking something like Farrow & Balls Lime White, Pointing, Skimming Stone... etc. Has anyone any ideas on what looks good in that kind of colour pallette please? Thank you :)
I think your choices are excellent, but I would paint Skimming Stone onto a piece of card and then see how it goes with the paving. If the shade is a bit “off” next to it, it can look very wrong. I’m no colour expert, but even neutrals can look wrong if the base colour is different.
I have found in my garden that I’ve had to use a lot darker shade than I thought, to avoid things looking white in the sunny garden. So try A3 size or bigger samples on paper outside - it’s amazing how things change from indoors to outdoors !
Hi! I would use a Color Muse to measure the colour attributes of your flagged floor and then choose a colour, which relates to the hue family to which the flooring belongs.
Then all you need decide, is whether you prefer the wall colour to be darker or lighter, but knowing that it will coordinate with the flagged floor.
I agree with OnePlan, whites outside look much brighter than inside so I would choose a darker colour as well. I usually advise clients to choose a colour that appears in the brick work and/or the pointing of the brick work. Avoid bluish tones.
