which tv unit would be best?

We have a small low ceiling flat and my OH had the good idea of buying a (very) big TV! 113cm wide!

Would it look better on an eye level unit (I was thinking of a console) or would it be best on a low level 50cm high?

I am concerned if I put it at eye level it will be too obstrusive in the room....

TV should ideally be at eye level or lower when you are sitting down. If it’s too high you will be looking up which can put a strain on your neck and cause pain and headaches.

Wow, I really like this design and the rest of the house....really has a lovely flow to it and is very bright. My only concern with opening up the original living room to the hallway would be that the existing house is poorly insulated and would leave the front room cold during the winter. I imagine the existing front room as a dynamic room in that the doors to the dining room can be closed, a stove fire turned on and it would be a quiet reading/relaxing zone in the house. Though I must admit...the above example provided is really tempting. thanks Dytecture!

From the looks of things, that really is the only place for the sectional. So...can you pull it out just a foot maybe away from the window? Move your tv over the stove if safe to do and try a big plant in that corner where the tv is now. Your painting behind some is way too big for that wall. Move to opposite wall. I would remove the black loves eat and replace with two reading chairs and maybe that end table you have by the sofa. For window treatments I just do not see drapes/curtains working in this room with that sectional.

I understand..I think that the chair fabric should have some colour reference to the others... another thing you might think about is to maybe have the chair the same as the sofa then you can have a pattern fabric on the chaise.
