We are renovating a house and one of the rooms will be used as a “kids TV room”, the children are a bit older now (10 & 12), so I’m wanting to paint it in an ‘adult‘ shade rather than make it a fun kids room, if that makes sense! The room is quite small and is east facing, so I’m wondering what colour would be best to paint it? any advice welcome ! Many thanks in advance!
Hi Rebecca - can you tell us often you/family will be using the room and what time of the day?
If you are east facing then you will get really good light morning and to midday, I'm assuming? If your kids will be using the room, say after school then it would predominately be used evenings and maybe weekends? In which case I would lean more towards a darkish shade such as Hague Blue or De Nimes Farrow and Ball.
Thanks you much for response! You’re right, it will be mainly used by the children and therefore evenings during the week, but throughout the day on weekends. I’ll take a look at the colours you suggest. Thank you
I wonder if a soft sage green would work? My sitting room is north-east facing and gets the morning sun too and I’ve painted it F&B Cromarty. It’s a light green-grey shade, but never feels cold or dark. It goes beautifully with plaster pink shades.
Three facts, the room is east facing (darker in afternoons); it's already small; it's a TV room. If you choose dark colour the room will look even smaller. Nevertheless, purely TV room should be dark, like cinemas are ;).
Colours affect our moods. Gender. Favourites. Etc. Consider all.
