How can I finish this bedroom?
We’ve just moved this Ikea daybed and spare furniture to the guest room and have decided to keep the atmosphere calm and serene.
I’ve used mostly white and silver as a theme but have a pink and grey cushion, as well as a navy cushion there at the moment.
I want to avoid a feminine look but love the softness of the pink and the depth of the navy. However, happy to inject any colour. It’s also looking too plain at the moment and maybe missing texture?
Also I have the large cupboard on the side of the room which makes the room ‘heavy’ on one side and not symmetrical, is there a way to balance this out? Perhaps with a picture/table/shelves? Any help would be much appreciated!

Comments (4)Are you English? sometimes a small room can look bigger with all over pattern, say a toile or a floral,,repeat it on the walls, either upholster the walls and use it for drapes, or use the same pattern in a paper as in fabric. It will cozy up the room, and hide any quirks in the architecture. To put a small shade on the window is to draw attention to it and the fact that your bed is offside. Keep the bed it sounds nice. Comments (23)Adding width BEHIND THE BED - with a headboard (which doesn't have to be a "headboard"; it could be fabric, collection of mirrors, collection of pictures, a farm gate!, small chairs or stools) across the entire width. Matching bedside tables/bookcases/chests/ with LAMPS - useful storage for extra books, extra bedding, etc. CURTAINS always warm up a room. People will always feel colder away from home - provide an extra blanket or duvet to add to the bed. I notice there is no WARDROBE. Comments (0)So I have just moved back home from college for a couple of months and I am in my old bedroom. It functions as my work space as well as for relaxing and obviously, sleep! As you can see from the pictures, all the furniture is placed in one corner of the room with a big empty space nearer the door. I won't be staying here for long and don't have much money to go out and buy new pieces but I'd like to rearrange the room so it's more balanced. I have a few pieces of furniture, and a single bed with built in wardrobes. The bedroom is awkwardly shaped and I am limited to how I can arrange my furniture. 4 years agoThis are inexpensive rugs from IKEA they will freshen up your room, as far as you shelf unit goes see if you can attach some doors if it was bought from ikea otherwise maybe try to reposition the bed, can you show the rest of the room and what is the room used for??
