Ground floor flat in purpose built 1960s block. Taking out the carpets in bedrooms/living room and hallway. We were thinking of replacing with Karndean or cheaper LVT. The builder who came round for a quote said that even with underlay, Karndean will be considerably lower than current flooring and therefore there would be a gap under internal doors. Does it matter? If so, why? And are there any thicker alternatives?
