Comments (9)It looks like the space could really benefit from some modernisation. Possibly cream/white units to get away from the heavy feel of the wood. That will really freshen it up. A dark worktop to provide a contrast between the units and the floor. Look into integrated appliances as this will create a more streamlined appearance. Do away with the glazed units unless you really are a fan. Install a few under counter lights. Look at a separate hob and cooker (even if it's an under counter double oven) again to help create a more complete feeling. Then just a fresh coat of paint and I'd say you have the makings of a totally different room....See MoreNeed help with shower in dormer bathroom
Comments (4)For the time being (and this IS only a temporary fix) try using a water based penetrating sealer on the grout. I stress water based, because solvent based sealers today are made to be "breatheable", meaning they allow moisture to transmit back and forth, while the water based sealers will repel water. You still need to address this in a more permanent manner (the glass door is a good idea, but it wouldn't hurt to remove the bathroom floor tile, waterproof the floor, and install a new tile floor), but this will help until you can afford to do what you need to do....See MoreChanging the layout of the ground floor to open plan! Comments (2)If you are worried about the hallway being dark why not have a fully glazed door into the open plan area at this bottom of the stairs. This would allow you to see straight through the house when you walk in the front door and make the hallway feel much brighter and less closed in?...See MoreGabby Wong
