That wall paper doesn't go at all.. and you don't need wallpapers.. how about a cream shade on the fireplace part of wall with oxblood coloured (from your curtain flowers) horizontal band below mantel, while the rest of the walls be lilac? Ever considered stoenwork similar to your fireplace on that wall? Also lower the hung photographs.. should be at least four inches below the windows' top edge.. Your sofas are quite dark. they seem aubergine.. is there any way you can at least place one of the sofas across from a window so that light falls on it? right now it is in the shadows backed against the windows, therefore more dark (does it seem so when you're in the room too?) The mirror (though nice) is too solid and thick for the mantel. can it go on a clearer stretch of some wall? fourth wall? What is the fourth wall like? idk how the fourth wall is like but how about angling large sofa at 90 degrees to the window with the single seater also angled in the corner where the lamp is.. and place the side table with lamp infront of the window (i-e at the corner of the 'L' made by t he sofas).. If possible get lighter lamp shades (cream).. Love the cushions.. place two of these cushions on the single seater to relieve the large sofa.. Please turn the rug lengthwise along the length of the sofa.. get a glass/metal table (if tots allow) or cream ottomon as center table.. The TV is too large for the rack, no? The vase is being wasted under the tv.. Florals and stripes can be mixed depending on print.. but if you bring anymore florals in this room, it would be best to match the flower shape to those in the curtains. I find the curtains too short...

Hello egreevy, Okay, yes I see, it's a difficulty but maybe not impossible... Just whether you want to try to find out more about this.. Taking windows out to paint is a bigger job but it may still be possible.. ... So for the immediate.. Paint the front door (just the door) it might give a nice finish to have the side windows white.. Then you have a bit of contrast like your image above.. and add window boxes with lovely foliage or buxus.. it will work with the green you already have... I couldn't see as my screen was dimmed.. I think leaving all the ivy colour you have at present would be really nice.. (hence my suggestion of more green!! Also I wouldn't paint the pebble dash, to me it looks absolutely fine on the house itself.. Maybe the small boundary wall at the front and a bit of the garage.. Also a flat box hedge coming over the top of the boundary wall could be nice too.. It will be lovely and green.. : ) )

A15) @Dara Cooke: If you can't afford a quartz or granite worktop from day one then I would recommend using a laminate worktop as a temporary solution. If you don't put tiles up as a backsplash then replacing the worktops can be relatively easy in a couple of years.

Nestled in the heart of Co. Sligo is a beautiful Luxury Country House called ‘Coopershill’. Home to the ‘O Hara family now for over 8 generations, this beautiful magestic house has been a home to many family members, and is now a haven for a magical visit by lots of people from all over the world. Simon O’Hara is the current owner, and he contacted our company ‘SheepWool Insulation’ after meeting us at trade show and then doing a little more research into our product on our website. The attic at Coopershill needed to be ‘re-insulated’ and Simon knew he wanted a product that would not only be a fantastic insulation quality material but he wanted an insulation product that would be natural, kind to the building and let it breathe - after all, it had stood the test of time since 1774 and he wanted to protect surrounding timbers and let it continue to breathe for another 1,774 years!! We explained that by using our 100% Pure SheepWool Insulation, Simon would have the reassurance of knowing that once installed, he would NEVER have to worry about his attic insulation requirements again, i.e. because it is 100% pure Sheepwool, it will last and last, as there is nothing in it to break down. Before removing the old insulation Simon measured up the area and discovered that most of the joists were not standard widths, some were 380mm wide, some 300mm wide and some 570mm wide! We explained that our insulation rolls can be very easily cut either with a roller cutter or Stanley knife, so Simon opted to ‘hire’ a roller cutter hoping to ease the task a little. ‘Comfort’ insulation rolls were used to insulate this attic space as these have a high insulation value and are ideal for the attic floor area. Simon wanted to lay 100mm between joists so the 4m length rolls were used, he also decided to opt for the 570mm wide product so that the team could easily ‘cut’ to fit without any waste. Simon then wanted to ensure that any heat generated in the House would stay in the house and not escape into the attic so they then also put another ‘cross lap’ layer across the joists and for this purpose they also used ‘Comfort’ rolls and he went for the 150mm product here. Again they opted for the 570mm wide product. Simons team completed the job in really quick time as the product was so simple an easy to use., and as Simon was on site throughout, I asked him what he and the guys thought of the product, and if it met with his personal expectations.., his comments are here : ‘The wool was wonderful to work with and none of the irritation of artificial insulation. What interested us particularly is: It is environmentally friendly which is a fit with our ethos. Long Lasting (in a house this size,I dont’ ever want to have to do a job twice!) Its ability to absorb and release moisture. This house is built with mortar which also allows moisture to pass through it. Artificial insulation can create a permanent moisture barrier which can lead to condensation and then mould and rot. It is fire retardant. It was bought from an Irish Company who were a pleasure to deal with. Most importantly of all, the house is warmer and holds its heat far better!! Thank you Simon for those comments and I’m glad that you all found it so nice to work with. You have done the work now so sit back and relax in the knowledge that our 100% pure SheepWool Insulation will take over from here and continue to work for years and years now and keep this beautiful house cosy and healthy.
