Dining table for L-shaped living room

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><md>Hello everyone, I'm trying to choose a dining table for our L-Shaped living/dining room but am not sure whether it would be a good idea to choose a solid wood table such as mango with benches or any other ones such as a marble effect ceramic with a sleek design. Our lounge dining room extends to a small open plan kitchen on one side (dining section) and a large rectangular balcony on the other (living section).
I'd be very greatful if someone would kindly suggest some ideas for the right size and material dining table. Any suggestions regarding the layout would also be greatly appreciated. Hope my drawing makes sense.

Sorry to say, but I think the dining set would look really orange on that floor.

Perhaps something a little more like this?

Your space could easily seat 6 (180-200cm) placing the head against the wall, but do you really need to?

Sideways with benches I'd say stick to a 4p table (120-150cm).

This is the dining room I really like but not sure if it suits or visually fits our dining area. The table measures 183W by 99D and each bench measures 147W by 37D

Thanks, I wasn't sure where the 9'4 measurement came in. If you're buying all new furniture then look for items on legs, as you can see the floor beneath it will make the space feel bigger. You can also use glass ie a glass coffee table or Louis ghost chairs for example. I'd also go for a large mirror over the hearth or not knowing your style could also have a ŵall of glass tiles for the same effect which will also bounce light. I'd go for a pale tone sofa and use warmer/darker colours for cushions if wanted. If you want a rug then I'd keep it in the same tone as the floor else to visually maximise floor space. I've drawn a very rough plan (not entirely to scale and obviously not knowing where doors etc are!). I assume you're wanting to buy furniture before you move in? If so do you have a similar size room where you could cut out paper templates of all furniture to see if the space works? I would mount the tv on the ŵall if you have one. Hanging it over a slim console (or slim cabinet for storage) means you can add art on the ŵall and accessorise the console so the tv doesn't become the feature of the ŵall. You could go for a coffee table or a small footstool which can double up as extra seating and table. I'd go for a round dining table, 3ft will seat 4 and you can pull it away from the corner when entertaining. i'd go for a 2 seater sofa (c5f?) but try and get a slim one. I don't know the size of the windows but blinds, shutters may also be an idea so curtains don't encroach on the floor space? In terms of decor do you want light and neutral or dark and moody then people can suggest paint colours?

Hi rinq,
Thank you so much for your time and suggestions. We do actually need a 6-8 seater and that's one of the reasons we are getting a new table and were thinking to get something that would add some warmth and cosyness to the living room. Do you think perhaps a rug under the Mango table would solve the orange shade that might clash with the flooring?
Also I do like the second table. However, our preference is more towards warmer more earthy Colors. Are there any other Color chairs that you would suggest?

I think you first of all need to have a clear idea what dimensions your table needs to be to fit your seating arrangement and particularly what would fit in your space.

Maybe to try for size you can use a large sheet or newspapers on the floor where your table will be and fold this (and measure it) so that you can see what size will work.
