Just painted the wall pink but now looks dull and flat and not sure what to do. There’s are 3 picture shelves to go up yet but it’s not looking how I hoped at all. Advice welcomed!

Comments (1)You'll need to deepen the wall color for the contrast you want. One overhead light is not enough for your dark corner. That is what we call "ambient" light - just a way to turn something on so you don't fall over furniture when entering in the dark. You'll need both accent and task lighting - lamps. Your current furniture is very large and is eating up this small space. Before you replace it with an equally large "suite" consider mixing it up with a pair of chairs and an apartment sized sofa. Some good ideas above for your existing pieces, but on the day you decide to try again, consider a few other options: Move the TV to the other end of the room. Wall mount it where the artwork is now, and add a long console beneath. Arrange you seating accordingly. New furnishings will appear less weighty if more leg shows, and less of it matches. Replacing wood with metal and glass has a similar effect. Both can make the room appear more spacious. Accent pieces can't work if they cover over the piece they are intended to support. Fewer pillows and tiny bits will allow what remains to be better seen. (Coasters are best not seen at all until needed). 4 years agoI really like the colour but feel it’s the bedding that lets it down. Plain white bedding with cushions in pink and green with a nice throw at the end of the bed. Problem with that is it is far cheaper to repaint the wall than renew all the bedding! I do love a nice green whether pale grey green or darkest racing green and it goes beautifully with pink.
