I’m looking to change the layout and design of this patio wall and slope. I’m thinking steps going up side ways but centrally. The aim to stop children running off the edge.
I like concrete walls white / cream.

How about wide steps across the width of the garden? You’d probably only need three, possibly 4.

It’s amazing how bad that design is. I too was going to suggest nice wide steps! Another picture to add to tamp’s ones.

It makes me cross that people think they have a right to make some quite negative comments on this post. Masmccar76 put these photos on because she thought people would like to see a genuinely lovely transformation of her garden. Instead there have been some downright nasty comments. Hi Maribel - have a look at Horatio's Garden. It is an amazing project which has provided gardens for patients recovering from spinal injuries. There are plans to provide the same for all spinal units around the country. The designers were award winning and it has been featured on Gardeners World. I know about it as a friend of mine who spent a year in the unit now fundraises for the charity. I know your little son's needs are different to those of spinal injured patients, but there has been so much thought put into this garden that it may trigger some ideas for you. Hello Houzz Ireland, We are currently renovating a 1960's build - so as you know, there is a lot of decisions to be made!! So it would be nice to get some gems of advice from the experts to help us through this daunting task. Areas where we would really like some inspiration for - small bathroom downstairs. I would really like to do something fun with this room and although small, I think it could work really well with some funky wallpaper or possibly tiles?! I'm just not sure what to do with it. Also - pulling a whole house together?! Where do we start? We have the bigger pieces of furniture but how do I know what nest of tables goes best with a suite? Or what accessories will bring a room together? I'm due a second baby in 2 weeks time so any help at this stage would be so amazing - to guide me on the right interior design path for our new house. Wasted Garden Space into Patio

This particular area of the garden was cleared from overgrown shrubs and trees. However, the space was still not being used and was rather unsightly. It is a suntrap for the morning and afternoon sun. The ideal spot for a little seating area and the potential to be a beautiful space. We decided to construct steps, a small sandstone patio and surround it with some colourful low growing planting. And one year on it is looking great...!
