oak skirting boards or white?

hello, I need some help my wife thinks oak skirting boards don't go with grey carpet and white skirting matches better, walls are offset white. Which skirting do you think looks better?

I always paint mine white, or you could use the same colour as your walls, in an appropriate wood paint of course. Natural wood skirting looks a bit 80’s.

White skirting for me. Or you could paint the skirting the same colour as the walls, which give a more streamlined look.

A medium color floor is easier to keep looking clean than a dark or light floor. For an open floor plan, I would choose planks. One of the main features in the design of an open floor plan is to draw the eye through the space. A herringbone pattern would be confusing to the eye. Use herringbone in a small room.

White would go better. Wood looks dated and a white painted surface is more easily changeable and will go with more colours. It will also be cheaper!
