IS IT POSSIBLE ?????
Comments (4)We have a library in our home. The room used to be a TV room, which was impractical for two reasons: first, the room is located over the garage and is open to the bedroom, which meant that watching TV at night would disturb our children's sleep. Secondly, having windows on three sides of the room made TV watching difficult in the daytime, as no matter what angle we positioned the TV and sofa, we would always have glares. So we decided to move the computer from the basement to the den, we added a large bookshelf on one wall, and repurposed an extra dining room set into a homework station, the sideboard and huthc acting as a stationery/board game center. We are very pleased with the results and my sixteen year old now uses it to tutor another young girl, because she has everything handy, there room enough for them to spread the materials, use a laptop, dictionaries and work materials are handy and there is always plenty of light....See MorePlease help me rejuvenate unused patio area
Comments (6)Hi Antoinette I too live in Ireland in a Semi Detached. My husband who's the one with green fingers has transformed our garden into an oasis you wouldn't think we lived in a housing estate. You might start with cleaning the slabs. You could change the edging tile with a contrasting one to set it off. Use different sizes and colours of pots. A seating area in one section. Use lots of different colours and plants which are ok to grow in pots. Just seeing all the colours come to life in Spring and Summer will cheer you up. Here are some photos that were taken at the end of summer last year the leaves have started falling from the trees. Oh yeah still have the clothes line up too....See MoreAny Help with updating kitchen greatly appreciated
Comments (27)Hi guys, Leelee we are definitely doing the vintage bits on the wall. We actually have some vintage cereal boxes that we are planning on displaying on the shelves (filled with cereal of course)!. Sarainitaly - I'm investigating thenIkea planner but it's painful to work (or maybe it's just me!). Here's a pic of the walls totally painted green now. Think the shelves will look great along with some pictures dotted around. It's the cabinets now that will b a pain! BTW it was pure enthusiasm that stopped me waiting until the water heater came off the wall to paint - lol. I will have to paint the patch when it's off....See MoreTo put hob on kitchen island or not to put hob on kitchen island?
Comments (28)Hi amfork, I went ahead & put the hob on my island & am delighted I did. I find it really is so much nicer looking out at the kids/my husband & being able to chat to them while I prepare meals as opposed to facing the wall with my back turned on everyone. I put a 4 ring induction hob on the island & put a 5 ring gas hob on counter facing wall. I did this as I have a large extended family & we frequently have get togethers. It’s great for catering for big events. However, I use the 4 ring induction hob on a daily basis. Hope this helps! Best of luck with your project, Claire...See MoreJonathan
