I used stencils many many years ago the tip is to use stencil paint brushes not normal paint brushes and when painting very little paint . By this I mean when you load the brush dab it onto kitchen paper to remove the excess paint and then paint it onto the wall using a dabbing motion. I would also use stencil paint, good luck .
