coloured skirting boards and woodwork

I have chosen the leaf wallpaper for one wall. then will probably go with badly haze for the other walls or maybe get a slightly lighter colour.
it's hard to see but the two larger wood samples below the paper. ignore the smaller of the three too dark.
I could paint the skirts and the frames around the door and built in cupboards the green or do the skirts the pale tallow colour and then just the frame and doors of cupboard in the green?
also what are peoples thoughts on painted picture rails? it's not currently up, the ceiling is going to be white. should I paint the picture rail green or the tallow or white?

Paint the wood floor with a flooring paint. If you want to be creative, you can create your own special design. I've had painted wood floors in a previous home and everyone loved them. If you get tired of it, paint them a different color! Saves doing rip out and better for the environment! My floors held up well. I was surprised. I even did a faux marble floor for fun.

Hi .. I am in the middle of a self build and I have a few questions that I am looking for a little advice on ? I am looking at light grey PVC windows (on outside) ..Is there a norm ? for what goes on the inside of the window teaming it with Off white Interior doors and similar painted skirting boards ? I am having trouble with the over all colour scheme of the inside of the windows, woodwork and internal doors ? Are there any rules here?

Paint the doors black matt and the fames cream add silver crome door furniture. Huge silver mirror above the covered radiator then add a runner of any colour you like and match it with the lamps and lighting. hey presto done.

A medium color floor is easier to keep looking clean than a dark or light floor. For an open floor plan, I would choose planks. One of the main features in the design of an open floor plan is to draw the eye through the space. A herringbone pattern would be confusing to the eye. Use herringbone in a small room.
