Ideas on how to cover a radiator fitted below a window seat

I've removed the front-facing panel of an original wooden window seat and installed a radiator underneath. The seat now overhangs the radiator by about 3cms, and I need a new front panel to hide the radiator and also support the seat so it can still be safely sat on.
I've looked online and found some unpainted perforated MDF which would allow cooler air in at the bottom and warmer air out at the top. But I don't want to fix it as an unmoveable panel, like it was before. I'll need access to each end of the radiator for adjustment/repairs.
Has anyone done anything similar, or have any photos of something that might work? I'm not a DIY'er and will probably ask someone else to do it, but I don't want it to be a complicated or expensive job; the idea behind this was to buy a cheap efficient radiator rather than the more expensive ones I'd been looking at for visible walls.
If there's a hack, or a simple way of using cheap materials, that would be ideal.

Comments (17)Simplify is always a good strategy with play rooms. The temptation to cover the walls with artwork and posters can add to the visual clutter. I would suggest a larger area rug to ground the space and create a soft place for playing on the floor. A medium colour with a fleck from other hues in the curtains and upholstery will help hide dirt and lint. I think you could definitely cozy it up with a warm wall colour to unify the space. Comments (36)I would also definitely go white if the windows are on the green wall. Will be much more natural to tie the accent wall with the stark wht contrasting walls. Always a very chic contemporary look. Also very relaxing as opposed to the treatments standing out when you already have your standout feature- the green accent wall. Great white bed you ordered! Then I love all the blue/green/ silver accent advice. I did a similar room in purples/greys/ whites and we used great posted prints of florals with a little oriental flair in nice big mats w frames. You could do florals or nice big botanicals in greens would be very fresh and modern!! Comments (16)www.visioninteriors.ie Looking at your curtains and curtain pole, in my opinion it is the pole that initially needs to be corrected - it is a nice steel pole,however the importance of a pole being fitted correctly makes a huge difference to the hanging and look of the curtains. the brackets at each end of the pole should be at least 8"/20cm away from each sides of the window, this allows the curtains to frame the window nicely while letting in as much light as possible. The brackets should be 2"/5cm away from the finial ( ball end in this case) at each end of the pole. The space between the bracket and the finial (end of the pole) has one curtain ring only and the rest of the curtain rings/hooks are the window side of the brackets so that the curtains can hang straight. Whether you buy new curtains or hold onto your existing ones check out the fitting of the pole and remedy it - you will be amazed at the difference this can make....See More

4 years agoSpeakermagnets and metal mesh can go straight on top of the radiator (and without blocking any heat conduction). The challenge is the framing, 3cm is quite narrow and that sill looks very thin.
