Suggestions for fabric suppliers for blinds

I'm looking for suggestions for fabric suppliers, primarily for some blinds.

I was going to go to the Chelsea Design Centre, but not only is £££ I also think the styles are quite traditional/luxe/heavy, etc. I'm looking for something more modern, light, youthful... more 'upmarket Ikea'!? I prefer texture or discreet patterns over bold prints, and am also looking for something for a three-year-old's bedroom.

Dunelm have surprisingly nice fabrics - saw them today. John Lewis are good too. There are lots of suppliers online too, but obviously check out the reviews first.

Just Fabrics have some lovely fabrics and a wide variety. They are online and have physical shops in Burford and somewhere else in the Cotswolds (but I can’t remember where).

I do not see velvets and silks for a kitchen sink window sorry. There are plenty of gorgeous fabrics around with beautiful damask or geometric pattern that are striking, that could be found in a faux silk or linen. Velvet is something that I would never put in a kitchen. But it is your kitchen.

Thanks a mil! That's the thing about new colour. It does take some getting used to. However I had my babies room, a spare room and the inside of my front door painted at the same time last week and love all of the colours chosen but this one I just can't look at. It turned out to be more of a minty green than the colour samples on the wall. One of the fabrics below are being make up in a footstool and I think it may be overkill with too much colour. I wanted the coushions and footstool to pop as those are the things you spend the most amount of money on rather than the paint. In saying that. The cost of the paint was expensive and also paying someone to do it. Now to do it all over again is not ideal.:(. i took the cushions and fabric into one of my other rooms to see what it looked like against a more neutral background and felt it looked a little better. See pics below. Any other paint suggestions are much appreciated.

Hello Ciara, Out of the two choices I would suggest roman.. I would say yes to keeping all the windows with the same look... It just makes the house feel very unified and elegant. The same for wooden venetian with tapes or shutters I'd say the same all over.. If you want different fabric in the rooms you can still have white linings for roman blinds.. so if you wanted them to look the same from the exterior of the house but have something different inside. . : ))

A15) @Dara Cooke: If you can't afford a quartz or granite worktop from day one then I would recommend using a laminate worktop as a temporary solution. If you don't put tiles up as a backsplash then replacing the worktops can be relatively easy in a couple of years.

I'd suggest Dunelm, (or hobbycraft have a small selection) if you've got one near you... could otherwise see if there is a franklins or a search online for a local haberdashery ? Also I know you said upmarket Ikea... but if it's for a 3 year old and you might change it in the not so distant future anyway... Ikea do also have fabric of course
