Wood floors found under carpet..

Hi

I have just bought a Victorian terraced house built around 1900. I have had to strip all of the carpets right away and have found planks of wood running across the whole house which I think are unfinished hardwood (see photos). They seem to be in good condition, but the edges have been splattered with paint splotches that will need to be removed.

The house needs to be completely refurbished so I can’t finish the floors until at a later stage.

1. Do you think these are hardwood and worth restoring?

2. Is there anything I can do to clean the wood? Eg hoover, rub in some sort of protector/wood cleaner? Recommendations of products very welcome.

3. How can I protect the floors for the next 6 months?

Thanks!
