Replace old floorboards with plywood and fill voids underneath - Gf?

Hi everyone, we've just bought a house and planning some big renovation. It is quite old and floors are cold and draughty. As we decided to go for Karndean glue-down vynil throughout the ground floor, we thought of ripping old floorboards, replacing them with plywood, but also, maybe, to fill the voids underneath with sort of ceramsite sand/stones to ensure better insulation? The aim is to have warm floors for walking barefoot, therefore all these ideas. Any opinions are very welcome.
