I have just bought these paints. They are 80cm by 80cm so fairly big. I’m gong to put them on the wall that runs from the ground door up to the first floor. The idea being you’ll see them as you come in the house and also from upstairs. I want to paint the hallway. I’m thinking of the gray in the photo I have attached and then white on all the walls so the pictures will stand out more. Opinions would be great!
I love the idea! Just make sure that you keep the entire wall white and don't pain the hallway bit with one door on, grey. Otherwise it will look fab. It will be a relatively cold look due to the grey & blue - but you probably knew that and love it! :) Let me know if any other help is needed!
I wouldn't paint any of the walls white, i'd have them all the same. I'm not a believer of darker paint darkening a room, if you have crisp white paintwork, doors etc, they lighten the area as will a long pendant light dropping down the stairwell.
I like the colours circled red from F&B
I particularly like stone blue with white paintwork, that would really make your pictures stand out
The walls don't necessarily need to be white, light blue-grey could work really well with white skirting boards for example for contrast & detail. It wont make the space dark. It would create even more of a feature and a backdrop for the paintings.
