Unfortunately as Daisy says, you can't. It's recessed as they are already or not. An excellent example of a builder not thinking things through properly. The window should have been smaller, alas, it is not.
Thanks both. With no recess and not being able to go inside the recess of the sash windows. Would putting brackets on the top of the windows where the small trim sits work, tried to highlight it better on this pic. Concerned the trim might just fall off if I drill into it and if I go above the window the side angled walls won’t let the blind fit correctly.
I suggest you get a local blind company to come in and advise you. They have the knowledge to discuss different options. I wanted roman blinds in my kitchen but space was tight due to a fridge on one side and a cupboard on the other but they made it work. Not saying you should have this, but they know their stuff.
You may be able to get a carpenter to install a piece of wood, (you could cover it in material or paint it ), above the window, but deep enough to make it protrude over the window. You could then hang the blind underneath.
