How to redesign room used as walkthrough?
Comments (1)Could you bring the informal kitchen dining through here and make better use of the then bigger kitchen ? Or use it as a study area with a desk and extra tall storage cupboards for printers, paper envelopes and stamps etc etc Or as a games table area with a pair of chairs and a small table with a chess set on - defined by a rug underneath to pull it together as a space in its own right ? Or reading nook with book shelving, snuggler chair, side table and reading light ? Again anchored on a size appropriate rug ?...See MoreAttic Conversion with no windows
Comments (8)I too, am wondering why you were refused velux windows? Here in Scotland you are not allowed to convert an attic room to "livable space" - that is any room, other than a store room, without an escape window of a certain size, velux or other, due to fire regulations. Not sure where you live - in the UK? and what your regs would be? Again, I don't think you are allowed to open up a kitchen ceiling due to fire regs, this would obviously be a real danger in case of fire, when it would sweep upwards very quickly if a section was open. You obviously need to consult a surveyor or building engineer as a first step. If not done the right way, it can cause havoc when you come to sell, or even worse, if there ever were a fire....See Morehow to make the best use of space in a new extension
Comments (0)Hi 👋🏻 help please :) I am About to embark on our first home renovation and it’s already making my head hurt! We have a 3 bed semi d built in the 50s and are hoping to extend by 3.5 -4 metres out the back, convert the garage and build over it to create a bigger 3rd bedroom and a small 4th. I’m finding it so difficult to finalise the design downstairs - we want an open plan kitchen dining, a decent utility, guest WC and place for the kids and us to Hang out. We are keeping the sitting room at the front as a separate sitting room and using the garage conversion as a study/office. I would very much appreciate any thoughts, suggestions on the attached design....See MoreWhat's the best way to use this space??
Comments (2)I Think Cabinet is the best option for using your space in the best way. But you also have to keep in mind that you have some free space. Else you will not enjoy coking. thank you very much....See Morelocation24
