We have a very small under stairs toilet (no window). It has a marble effect tile on the lower half of the wall and white paint above. We’d like to change the white for something else but are not sure what to do. The tile seems to be too busy to add wallpaper above. Can anyone make any suggestions?
I think if you pick out the base colour of the marble tiles in your wallpaper then it will look great. Go for something wild and fun that has a specific motif rather than just a general pattern and it won't look odd. ie a themed paper rather than just another pattern.
ie not saying this specific wallpaper, but this is the sort of thing I mean with a theme, picking up the grey of the marble. I might go with a lighter tone though in that room ie have a contrast so either pick the darker tone in the marble as the background colour or the lightest tone if you don't want it too dark.
These tiles are beautiful, very elegant. A wallpaper with a pattern is a good idea, just make sure the colour tones are similar, but opt for something lighter to contrast the dark tile. So something in light, neutral earty warm tones. There is a nice subtle floral wallpaper that would work nicely-remember, you want this space to make a design statement, so you can go a bit crazier. https://www.designangels.co.uk/product-page/fo-shizzle-washable-wallpaper-1
