Best light gray for a small and very bright living room
Comments (1)Hi, I think any of those 3 could look good, with white elsewhere as a contrast and bringing in some bright warm colours with cushions, throws etc. We repainted our house last year and used Farrow and Ball colours - Elephants Breath is very popular and looks great in our living room, we used their darker greys in our sitting room and hall. You can get Dulux to mix FandB colours so it works out cheaper if you like. I was afraid of it being cold or dark but love it!...See MoreCurtains for living room nook & large slider patio door in kitchen
Comments (2)I agree, blinds, they are large windows so that is a lot of material / expense if you go down the curtain route, plus curtains may block out light. We have sliding doors like yours and have chosen to keep them free of any covering, however we are not overlooked. You might also want to consider translucent / sheer roller blinds which offer moderate privacy yet still retain a degree of visibility. We have them on our front windows for privacy as we are in a single storey house / bungalow, people can't see in (during the day) but we can see out. We also have curtains with them in the sitting room as we wanted it to be more cosy / private at night. In the other rooms we have another blind that sits over the sheer blinds, but this wouldn't work for all windows....See MoreDining room / living room dilemmas
Comments (0)We recently put on an extension to our kitchen and although I'm not so much having trouble picking colours for the walls there, I do however find it difficult to match up the dining and living all of which are open plan .. the sofas in the living area are removable covers, one set taupe and the other set white, no problem there but my curtins were expensive and I'm reluctant to change them at the moment so really want something to tie everything together ..they are autumnal in colour ...I'd appreciate some advice on paint colours for the walls they dont have to be the same but would have to tone well together ..Thank you...See Morehelp please! ground floor transformation, would love some advice
Comments (0)We are in the process of buying this house and ive ideas of how to make it work best for our young family but it would be great to get some thoughts on my proposed layout. Any advice would be hugely appreciated. On the right we are thinking of making the drawing room smaller, adding a wall and creating a pantry which can be accessed through the utility room. On the left we are thinking of adding a wall to the dining room to make half the room an office and the rest of the space a boot room. The w/c is tiny and under the stairs with steps down so this needs to change. I was considering adding a w/c when you come in on the right of the door as the 'studio' is just dead space - pic attached. In the kitchen I'm also considering knocking the wall to the living room to make this more open plan and potentially doing a v small extension off the kitchen for a playroom that would lead out to the garden. My two boys are under three so I want the playroom to be as near the kitchen as possible. Excuse my very simplistic drawing - hopefully it explains what I'm trying to articulate. Would really love some thoughts...See MoreHuw Buckley
