Advice for Hallway ( Fireplace or doors)

Would liek to her people's opinions on the hallway. Me and my husband cant decide if we want to have a fire place opposite the fron door in the hallway ( separating the hallway and the dinning area) or just double door, to open the space when needed to make it more spacious. Please have a look at the photos. Any suggestions very much

The design would be similar to this, but the fire will be double sided.

Comments (2)I wish I could help but I have exactly the same problem! I hope someone comes along and gives you some great advice. Mine's long and narrow with a small L shape at the end. Only light is through the front door, it's even been painted in the same colour scheme as yours and even though it faces south, still looked gloomy. In 15 years I've never once been happy with it! We are one of their installers in Colchester and have four on display, if we are near enough pop in, if not just find a local installer. if you are after timber we supply Bereco, again go to their website, not cheap but beautiful. 5 years agoI stand by what I said about having an obscured view of the garden. Assuming the stairs go upwards (not down) the staircase will obscure the view through one set of glass doors so the view from the front door through to the back door is quite obscured by a fireplace.
