Thoughts & experience of solar powered integral blinds

I’m hoping someone may be able to give me some insight into how effective and reliable solar powered integral blinds are in sliding doors. We’ve been told we can’t have a manual operation due to the weight of the blinds in our roughly 1.3m wide panels. The fully electric version is £1500 a panel so it’s well over budget so we are wondering about the solar versions

    I wouldn't have thought that the power source would change the price all that much. If you 're putting in integral blinds that require a motor to run them, whether you choose to power that via solar power or electrically shouldn't make much difference, If anything I would have thought that solar was more expensive to install as it's not the norm.


    I would be most intrigued to know the answer.
