what colour fireplace and cabinet?

I have painted the room in Gooseberry Fool 5 (Dulux) and the alcoves are a shade darker in Gooseberry Fool 4. What colour shall I paint the cabinet and fireplace ?

Comments (4)All depends what your room set up is like and also what your taste is. At the moment the trend is leaning more towards darker undertones and monochromatic colour schemes. White would go with everything - cream not really advisable- marble is a common fall back for most people. Comments (2)The colour would depend on lots of variants. Such as what’s on the floor? how much light is there? Do you have a splash back what’s the counter top? That said would you consider painting the island a feature colour? Such as ink blue or emerald green? It would make your island a feature. 5 years agoThe room is actually empty which is why is so hard to know really.. I will be having a light grey carpet . We don’t even have any furniture yet - just some old recliner sofas which we will be getting rid of at some point.
It’s a lounge diner, that’s the diner side - I will put up some photos later (in bed now!)
I am thinking I want to paint the skirting the same as the walls as well. I will probably have some shelves above the cabinet . I would like a nice big mirror above the fireplace.
We like the whole tone on tone look. With different shades of the same colour etc.

5 years agoIt’s quite fashionable to paint woodwork the same colour as the walls, but if not I think white or off white will look good. Fireplaces usually look pretty smart painted black. Woodwork is usually painted in gloss, eggshell or satinwood for durability. Here’s a few ideas
