We are very inspired by your suspended ceiling light.

We are about to start a loft conversion and we want to copy your ceiling lighting. Can you give us any info on how you did it please? our builder gave us a quote and it was very expensive, so we are wondering how difficult and expensive it is to do? We presume it is LED strip lighting and as we have no other wall lights in a big room we are going for 1000 lumens. Any tips and help would be very appreciated - Thankyou very much

With a sliding door, you can have each side different to match the style of the room it faces. Here are some ideas that, believe it or not, are done with sharpies on flat surfaces. I can envision a "fireplace" on the lounge side. On the dining room side, you could do the "double door" look, by putting half on the door, and half on the wall next to the door. So when the door is closed, it looks like a pair of doors, but when the door is slid open it looks like only one door (but it's the wall!) I added the 3rd picture just because I think it's so cool. I believe the only "real" thing in the room is the glass table/desk, and the filing cabinet.

Thanks for the suggestions. We have considered moving the partition wall and have asked our architect to draw sketches of the same but he's not keen on the idea! Great suggestions so far - any further ideas much appreciated!

Hi guys, Leelee we are definitely doing the vintage bits on the wall. We actually have some vintage cereal boxes that we are planning on displaying on the shelves (filled with cereal of course)!. Sarainitaly - I'm investigating thenIkea planner but it's painful to work (or maybe it's just me!). Here's a pic of the walls totally painted green now. Think the shelves will look great along with some pictures dotted around. It's the cabinets now that will b a pain! BTW it was pure enthusiasm that stopped me waiting until the water heater came off the wall to paint - lol. I will have to paint the patch when it's off.
