Need more colour advice to tie living room and kitchen.
Comments (2)The protruding wall around the fireplace needs to be wallpapered or painted with dense motifs or tiled with stone/brick textured tiles or ply. Re-doing your fireplace will drastically change the look of your living room. See photos below. Consider painting the frames of your doors and sliding doors in the living room and kitchen a dark brown to match the floating shelf over the fireplace. Do not decide what you want to do in poor lighting as you have provided in the photos. Wine is a good color to consider. Also think of darker colors like plum and have different shades on each wall (from the same color family). So maybe think of wine- plum- magenta or wine - oxblood-blood red, etc. whichever suits your taste....See MoreHow to design a room so can see into it via small glass with a cover

Comments (0)Hi, We're looking for some design options for a house we are planning to buy. We love the house location but the kitchen \ living area is proving to be a bit of a dilemma. There is a lot of glass in the kitchen area with full length windows to the front and rear which limits the options for layouts. We had a kitchen design prepared but are unsure if this really makes the best use of the space - it includes a corner dining area which while using the space feels a bit cramped for a family of 5. Due to the door position into the kitchen the builders design looks odd as they have placed the kitchen table right in line of sight of the front door so placing the table there seems a no no. We want to have an island in the kitchen ( its plumbed etc for one ) which we can have up to 5 high seats around which is in the design. We would like to have a TV in the room ( again limited places to put one on the walls due to the glass ) and would like some suggestions on layouts there also ( maybe the TV has to go ! ) - without something that completely blocks the access to the rear doors. Any thoughts gratefully received !...See MoreHallway design advice and ideas
Comments (0)Hi, I'm looking for some suggestions for what to do with this hallway. It's bare because we've recently moved in and have done nothing with it, apart from painting the walls. I was thinking of putting some sort of table or radiator cover along the back wall but if like some storage too, if possible. Just a few drawers or a small unit of some kind. I'm unsure what to do with the stairs too. There are pieces of timber missing from tge front of two of the steps so not sure if they can be filled or if I'd have to cover it. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks....See MoreKP Anderson
