I sanded the boards in my kitchen and painted em with diamond hard white floor varnish. 6 months later it's flaking and chipping, especially round the sink. The kitchen is unfinished as I've more or less run out money, so I'm looking for a cheap solution to allow me to get the missing units and cupboards built. I've been thinking about basic vinyl flooring (not the fancy planky stuff) , but I do like the look of floorboards and paint would be even cheaper. Anyone got any tips?
