Wooden floor, Carpet and tiles???

I have bought a middle floor apartment with a large lounge and small kitchen, which has a long hallway into them. I was thinking light grey tiles in the hall and kitchen and then wooden flooring for the rest of the apartment. One largish window. Would the floor lead to more noise being heard from the apartment below or do you think it would be okay? Any advice would be welcome.
