What colour wood? (With Cornforth White walls, White Gloss Kitchen)

We live in a Victorian semi-detached house (UK), we are having the rear kitchen and dining room knocked together and a 6 meter deep extension to make a big open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area.

The rest of the house has recently been decorated with Farrow and Ball Cornforth White on the walls, white skirting boards and trim. I am minded to keep this decoration in the extension.

We have 99% settled on gloss white kitchen units.

The floor is now the biggest outstanding item. We want engineered wood, but are really quite torn as to the colour. I don't find Cornforth White (which is really quite a strong grey) to be the easiest to match. I don't want a very white floor, so some of the very pals or white-washed Scandinavian style floors that often seem to get paired with Cornforth White are out.

I'm sort of been torn between pale oak like Boen Oak White Nature:

Something darker, like Boen Oak Smoked:

I like a more muted dark floor as well, like the one in this picture:

Light grey walls, gloss white kitchen units, all looks pretty pale. I'm erring towards a darker floor. Would I'm sure be more resilient to inevitable scratches, spills and marks - and also muddy feet. I also think that finding a match with a light floor, rather than a clear contrast with a dark is a bit harder.

Finally, I am still deciding between regular blanks an a parquet / herringbone pattern. Generally I prefer the look of smaller planks with a patterned fit. I appreciate it costs a bit more to fit (but it sometimes the wood itself is cheaper). Not sure what the pros and cons are if any in a open plan room like we are designing.

Really grateful for any advice, I'm not focused on those Boen floors at all, they were just the ones that I had to hand, so grateful for any suggestions - either pictures or specific floor options.

Thanks!
