Underbed storage advice pls

Hi we have a montreal storage bed with wooden slatted base and up until recently havent used the drawers. However, due to us having fitted wardrobes we now need to use these for clothes.
So, I'm looking for advice on preventing hair, etc getting through slats and onto our clothes, because when I moved the bed and opened them the other day it was gross!!
Is there something you can buy?
