Is Orange the New Black?
From zesty to burnt, tangerine to apricot, orange was a dominant colour at this year's Salone del Mobile and have taken the design world by storm ever since.

Comments (3)The only problem is you are going for a traditional fireplace and granite is a fairly modern look you could go for a lighter shade , remember its your house if you like the look stick to it. Comments (14)Thank you guys. I went to the carpet showroom today and the guy there was not very helpful. Just threw a few books at me. So I am none the wiser really. But there would not be as much selection here in Ireland as what you would have in the states. I won't give up though, I saw a few ones with speckles on it and they were nice but I think I will hold out for the pattern ones if I see them. Maybe what I want is not out there..... 5 years agoGiven the current trend for dark blues, greens and greys in interiors I think orange is a natural counterbalance. Look at a peacocks wings for example. I think Pantone are also tipping that orange will feature a lot in future trends. I personally love orange.... except when it’s orange knotty pine furniture:)

5 years agoI'm not as keen on the zesty or paler shades but love burnt orange and the terracotta shades which I have a couple of bits in. If I needed new dining chairs (and had the budget) I'd be tempted by these gubi chairs!

The Geo Armchair is a great example of how to add orange to your living room. The Geo Collection from luxury Italian brand Saba is designed by Paolo Grasselli and was launched in Milan this year.

5 years agoMy daughter's new room is going to be all grey and white with pops of vivid colour and orange is one I want to use a lot of. This is the chair that I've upholstered to go into the scheme.
