Hi, we are about to start our extension. It's west facing and has a total of 7.5m of glazed bifolds (u value of 1.5) and I'm in two minds about whether to keep them normal glass or get them tinted. We'll also have four 1.2x1.2m roof lights. I'm a bit concerned about the room getting too hot in the summer or am I overthinking things. Any advice either way would be appreciated! Thanks Houzzers xx
Tinted as in with a film? Or factory tinted? I think you might regret having them tinted in the months when it’s not glaring sun as it might hinder any clear sky and look drab (unless it’s the blue tint of course)
You can get solar glass put in but it’s super expensive but would help stop the heat.
It is a glare or heat issue though you are trying to resolve?
