Standard conservatory goes from too-small to wow-factor

When the Cutter family moved into their new home, they were disappointed with the size of their conservatory. Instead of accepting it, they opted to expand - to a full-blown conservatory veranda.

Coupled with fuchsia and purple accents, we think it looks pretty eye-catching, especially steeped in springtime flowers. It takes the concept of bringing the outside in to a whole new level. What do you think?

It's nice. Certainly better than it was but I wonder why people don't have less frames. More glass, less frames as all I see is a lot of white.

fragle0 ... congratulations on the new addition to your family. Have been following your lovely changes. You probably won't have time to work on the decor for a while. Just wanted to suggest that you try pulling the nesting tables forward to be more in line with front of the chairs & placing your floor lamp to the back of them. This will give a bit more light at night for reading in that area.Also switching the plant by the fireplace & the one on the corner by the sofa.

This is a very small and dark kitchen I would defo change the colour of the units to an antique cream and the worktop a darker colour maybe walnut and paint those double doors and the window sill white to match the other wood work also get a smaller round table it would give you more floor space the chairs you have would still work and maybe add some splashes of acidy colours lime green/orange or yellows not too much just a few touches. also Jacksplash is correct about the blind if you are keeping a blind go for a straight edge one. if your budget allows I would also change the sink to a white sink it really reflex light from the window and brightens the room I did something the same with my own sink it doesn't have to be a Belfast sink you can get the same sink as you already have in white ceramic.

Is there underfloor heating? I can’t make out any other source of heating which would make all that lovely seating area unusable for much of the year otherwise.
I like the idea of the open covered area but it appears to be a step down from the garden - or is that my eyesight? For me, i think this area would have worked better if it had been level to the garden with a patio area extending out into the garden instead of the single slab step that appears to be there.
A good sized space though which I’m sure they will enjoy.

My parents had a new conservatory fitted without underfloor heating and due to the heat efficiency of the new glass it is usable pretty much all year round. They run a little Dyson heater for an hour or two on really cold days and it will keep the heat for a few hours.

I hasten to add - they don't have radiators either.
