what colour walls/doors

I am in the process of re decorating not sure what to do here.
Dilemma 1: want to brighten up north facing hallway want to go with neutral tones. I was thinking of repainting doors white but painter thinks I am mad ! Any suggestions for woodwork and walls? Maybe keep doors oak and stairwell white/ all white woodwork ?? The end door is to my kitchen which the counter tops are very dark (painting this too so all ideas welcome) don’t mind blind colors they are going

Hi Becky I'm not sure what style you are looking for but try www.solidor.co.uk These are the best low maintenance front doors you can get with lots of options on colours, inside and out. We are one of their installers in Colchester and have four on display, if we are near enough pop in, if not just find a local installer. if you are after timber we supply Bereco, again go to their website, not cheap but beautiful. A medium color floor is easier to keep looking clean than a dark or light floor. For an open floor plan, I would choose planks. One of the main features in the design of an open floor plan is to draw the eye through the space. A herringbone pattern would be confusing to the eye. Use herringbone in a small room.
