Need help with a wooden chair!

I bought this chair for €5 in a charity shop, so as you can imagine, its not in the best condition. I think it has good character so I want to fix it up.
As you can see, some of the pegs have come off the backpiece, and i dont have any replacement ones.
One of the legs is glue in quite badly so any ideas on how to clean that up too?
I dont mind spending a bit on this as it was so cheap. I dont really want to paint it if I dont have to, i like the worn look.
