Hi, I have a full wall of excellent quality fitted wardrobes in my master bedroom. The only problem is they are orange. I would like to update them but not change the doors. Should I chalk paint them and add new hardware? Maybe stain them a darker shade? Any suggestions welcome

Hi Therese, You could keep them as two seperate wardrobes and revamp to something more modern, alternatively you could get rid of the fire place and step out the two wardrobes and create one large wardrobe all flush and the chimney breast would work as a row of narrow shelves! ugh, we're very lucky to be building our own house but I'm not enjoying how much work that involves. this is the random space I have for my walk in wardrobe - pentangular room without a doorway from the master bedroom, 630mm to the wall on the left which is 1780, then the facing wall is 1650mm, there's a 45°angled corner and 1580mm more, then 630mm to the original wall with 1255mm back to that door. I'm thinking shoe racks for 600mm inside the door on the left then hanging rail at top and middle of the rest of it over as far as the corner. Then vanity section with mirror and drawers below for make up and trinkets etc. then I'm a bit lost.... what should the break down of hanging vs shelving be and what about drawers!! I'm quite messy but am typically good at folding!!

Tall ceilings and fussy wardrobe solutions

Moving in soon and want to revamp this north facing bedroom (see photo below) which has super high ceilings and a fussy built in wardrobe with too much detailing. Was thinking to paint the ceiling darker perhaps to the top of wardrobe right around the room and change knobs/paint wardrobe same as walls (something warm but neutral). Will ditch the curtains too! Thoughts or other ideas?!
