Help!! curtain and blind colours

Hi, all I need to order some material today. we've been looking at Laura Ashley - pussy willow dove grey, or off white and then bring an accent colour in. or should we have a bit more colour in blinds.
our dining room table is a light oak from habitat.
Any help massively appreciated!!

Comments (39)Window shopping and lots of online browsing.! .haven't purchased anything yet!. Just getting house back in order after painting! I have put back the red/winey curtains that I previously had up...convinces me more to go with a neutral colour. The walls are rich Taupe but with a slight grey hue off them so I think the bottom left above actually might work. I have bedding very similar so I took them out and held up and think it would look very nice. Purple isn't a theme in my house (although I do have one bedroom painted purple/lilac) My sitting room is white red black and silver and living/kitchen room is tan and red. Comments (1)Hey Oldholly, Are you changing the glass to clear or keeping them frosted? If you are keeping them frosted, would you consider aluminium venetians? You can add a bit of colour if desired but with them, you can also allow light in while covering up the frosted glass. If you are changing the glass, you could consider roller blinds or roman blinds both adding a touch of class if the right fabrics are selected. 6 years agoHi, I absolutely love your kitchen. I think maybe a pop of colour in the blinds is good. I love the colour combination of yellow and grey and think this could really suit your kitchen and then you can add decorative objects which emphasise the yellow such as fruit bowls, tea-towels, fresh flowers and flower pots. Below are a few ideas.
If you wanted to be able to switch up colour palettes more often, as blinds can be expensive, maybe go with the pussy willow print. Then you can have a new accent colour every month if you wanted to.
My kitchen has a busy and dull tile work at the moment so I have used accents of green (very busy so I only had to accent with a few objects). I have only added like a draining board, a plant pot and tea towels and it really brightens the room.

If it was me advising a customer, I would be advising against roman blinds in this situation. With the doors, if you put a roman blind up, this will block a lot of light from the room even when in the open position however it would work on the window over the sink. On this basis, I would be advising roller blinds. You could pop in some colour with the roller blinds.
It doesn't make a huge difference if the kitchen and the living rooms are different colours so long as they are at different sides of the house.

6 years agothis is the table we have - we have a bench and 3 chairs - red, grey and white (previous kitchen had a red accent).
we were thinking curtain to one side for the doors and Roman in window.

6 years agoI think because you are using such small amounts of the yellow it wouldn't matter too much what colour you used. You could always include some accessories with this other colour to take the design through the house. Just a few ideas below (not quite the right colour but I hope you see what I mean).
